Cambodia Soft Adventure and Beach 9 Days

Travel Agency Cambodia – Travel Agent Cambodia – The Angkor temple compounds, Khmer icons which offer days of fantastic historical adventure, are just the beginning of the Cambodia you will discover on this tour. After enjoying the wonder-laden but well-trodden routes through Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and Angkor Thom, you will explore the natural setting and rural communities around Siem Reap by zipline through the forest canopy, by horseback through the rice fields, by oxcart through local villages, by boat through mangrove forest, and by trekking to the sacred sites of Kulen Mountain. After this well-rounded taste of the ancient capital of Angkor, you’ll head to Sihanoukville on the south coast for a few days of sun and sand, key ingredients for processing all the scenes and sensations you will carry with you from Siem Reap.

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival (G, DP)

Arriving at Siem Reap Airport, you will be welcomed and driven to your hotel for check in. The rest of the day is free time and you will spend overnight at your hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 2: Siem Reap/Angkor Thom/Ta Prohm/Angkor Wat (B, L, G)

Today, you will visit Angkor Thom, starting at the Bayon with its characteristic giant stone faces gazing across the landscape. A remarkable structure reflecting the arrival of Buddhism to the area, the Bayon’s foundations have Hindu features, while the superstructure it supports is clearly inspired by Buddhism. Your next visit will be to the Elephant and Leper King Terraces, followed by the Baphuon Temple, which has recently undergone an eight-year multi-million dollar restoration programme. You’ll also see Ta Prohm, one of the filming locations for “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”, strangled by massive tree roots and typical of the condition of the whole complex when it was discovered in 1860 by French naturalist Henri Mouhot.

In the afternoon you’ll explore Angkor Wat itself, the most famous, the largest, and for many, the most impressive temple in this vast complex. You can climb to the top of Phnom Bakheng Hill for a great sunset view if weather permits.

Day 3: Siem Reap/Angkor Zipline Tour/Horse Ride (B, L, G)

Nothing brings people together like nature, thrills and laughter. Today you will be transferred to Flight of the Gibbon, located within the Angkor Park, where you will explore the pristine rainforest from high up in the treetops. Prepare yourself for a once in a lifetime experience soaring thru the green canopy that holds some of Asia’s most abundant plant and wildlife species, once viewed by only a few privileged scientists. www.treetopasia.com/cambodia-holiday/angkor.

CAMBODIA TOUR

In the afternoon, you will be driven to the Happy Ranch outside of Siem Reap. Here you will get acquainted with your horse of pure Cambodian breed and head into the countryside on horseback. On your 2-hour trail ride you will get away from tourist areas, passing through rice fields and local villages to the rarely visited temple of Wat Atvea. Explore these peaceful temple ruins from the Angkor era, a truly authentic experience. Return to the Happy Ranch on horseback via small, quiet paths through the local community, and you’ll be transferred by car back to the hotel.

Day 4: Siem Reap/Kampong Pluk Floating Village (B, L, G)

Today, you will be driven about 16km north of Siem Reap to Roluose where you take an ox cart to visit a local school and the village. Afterward, you will continue on unpaved road to a local pier where you will board a boat and cruise to Kampong Pluk floating village. Here you can see the real life of Cambodian people living in floating houses, along with the nearby rice fields, buffalos, friendly locals and fantastic village scenery.

Cambodia holiday

You’ll be treated to lunch at a floating house in full local style: no air-con or chair, you sit on a mat, the menu is roast fish with mango sauce, sour soup with fish or roast chicken with sour fish and white rice. Alternatively, you can pack a picnic lunch from Siem Reap, if your stomach does flip flops on local food.

After lunch, you will take a small boat through flooded mangrove forest that is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life. You will return to town in late afternoon.

(The best time to visit Kampong Pluk: Both rainy and dry seasons have their own unique qualities, but the period from September to January is when the village is most scenic.)

Day 5: Siem Reap/Trekking/National Park – Kulen Mountain (B, L, G)

You will be picked up from your hotel early for the drive to Phnom Kulen National Park, the most sacred mountain in Cambodia. You will drive to the top, and visit the waterfalls and the nearby monastery which houses a reclining Buddha carved on the top of the mountain. You’ll then drive to the village of Phum Thmei, leave the car and continue on foot (about 3 km) to visit Preah Kral Pagoda.

After a two hour trek you will reach what was the entrance of Prasat Rong Chen, the first mountain-temple built in the Angkor region. There, wander through the lush vegetation to find several life-sized animals carved into the stone. One of the highlights is an elephant, 4m long and 3m high. After a picnic lunch, you’ll return to Phum Themei for the drive back to Siem Reap, stopping en route to view another reclining Buddha and, if time allows, for a swim in the waterfalls. You’ll spend the night in Siem Reap.

Day 6: Siem Reap/Flight to Sihanoukville (B, DP)

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sihanoukville, where you will be picked up and driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is free time and you’ll spend overnight in Sihanoukville.

Sihanoukville, also known as Kampong Som, is a province of Cambodia on the coast with the Gulf of Thailand. This port city is a growing Cambodian urban centre, located 230 kilometres southwest of the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh. The province is named after King Father Norodom Sihanouk, and grew around the construction of Sihanoukville Port. Sihanoukville’s beaches have made it a popular tourist destination.

Day 7 to Day 8: Sihanoukville Free (B)

This time will be your own to do whatever takes your fancy!

Day 9: Sihanoukville/Overland to Phnom Penh/Departure (B, DP)

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel for the 230km drive to Phnom Penh Airport, arriving in good time to connect with your international departure flight. Travel Agency Cambodia – Travel Agent Cambodia

“We had very good guides”

“Mr Phuoc was outstanding.  His command of global events and being able to put Vietnam into international context was impressive.  Very personable, knowledgable, flexible and enthusiastic.  A real ambassador for his country while also recognising the shortcomings and opportunities facing Vietnam.  He didn’t just repeat history about sights, but he actively sought our own views and then worked out what would be of interest and why.  If we were to revisit Vietnam, or recommend a top guide, it would be Mr Phuoc”

“Thanks to Avada Travel Team”

“I am very pleased with how much effort the booking agents put into helping me customize my trip. They were receptive to my input and understanding when I wanted to make changes. They also helped me put my itinerary together very quickly. I booked the trip less than two weeks before I travelled. Avada Travel was successfully able to get me a visa in time for my trip with the strict time constraint we were working under.”

“I will come back Vietnam”

“I wish I had time to see Sa Pa. I am already trying to figure out when I can go back to Vietnam just so I can visit Sa Pa. Even though Ha Long Bay is incredibly beautiful and it was one of my favorite places, I wish I had opted to visit Bai Tu Long or a nearby area instead. Ha Long Bay was so overcrowded and touristy, it was disappointed to be stuck in such a limited area of the Bay when it is so vast. I would recommend that travelers explore their options and stay in nearby areas Cat Ba, Bai Tu Long, Lan Ha, etc and spend more time.”
